EC Action Against Cancer
The European Partnership: Action against
Cancer (EPAAC) was launched in December 2009.
The Partnership is based on a specific joint action supported by the Health Programme 2010. Joint action is a specific mechanism established under the Health Programme and refers to activities carried out by the Community and Member States or competent authorities.
The objective of the partnership is for all Member States to have integrated cancer plans by the end of the Partnership which will run until 2014. The Partnership shall provide a platform for analysing current cancer burden and trends, national strategies for cancer prevention and control, insufficiencies and discrepancies, and desired objectives for future cancer action at EU level.
The first „open forum" took take place on 14-15 June 2011 in Spain and focused on cancer healthcare and research. ESR is collaborating partner in WP 7 Healthcare.
