ESER Annual Scientific Meeting 2014 - Vienna, Austria, June 4-6
The European Society of Emergency Radiology (ESER) will hold its 3rd Scientific Meeting on June 4-6, in Vienna, Austria. The meeting features a very interesting three-day programme, presented by highly renowned international speakers, including seven core topics as well as interactive sessions and a panel quiz. The meeting will also include two highlighted sessions organised in collaboration with the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR).

ESTI 2014 – Amsterdam, Netherlands, June 12-14
The 2014 ESTI Annual Scientific Meeting will be held in the beautiful city of Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 12-14. The programme, featuring renowned speakers from Europe and abroad, will focus on the most recent developments and challenges in thoracic imaging, as well as education and training, including case-based discussions and interactive involvement. Topics will be discussed from a clinical and radiological point of view, mirroring the growing importance of interdisciplinary cooperation.

ESR and ESGAR team up to promote radiation protection
As part of EuroSafe Imaging’s training and education activities, the ESR and the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) will hold a Radiation Protection Orientation Session on June 17, back-to-back with the ESGAR 2014 Annual Meeting in Salzburg, Austria. The session will include lectures and interactive discussions on the theory and clinical practice of radiation protection.

Oncologic Imaging Course – Dubrovnik, Croatia, June 26-28
The 2014 Oncologic Imaging Course (OIC) will be held in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, on June 26-28.

Registration is open! This popular course, taught by renowned oncologic imaging specialists, will provide practical, up-to-date reviews of imaging approaches for the most common cancers of the chest, abdomen and pelvis. It will also feature an extended, in-depth review of best practices in breast imaging, covering basic concepts as well as emerging clinical issues and advanced imaging techniques.

European Patients Forum on working together with the ESR
Over the last year, the ESR has been working together closely with the European Patients Forum (EPF) on a number of projects, including the ESR Patient Advisory Group for Medical Imaging and the International Day of Radiology. The EPF has recently posted an article about this cooperation and the plans for further collaboration, on their website.

Is your imaging EuroSafe? New ESR campaign for radiation protection awareness
The ESR is pleased to announce its latest radiation protection initiative, the EuroSafe Imaging campaign, which was launched with a dedicated session at ECR 2014. This new campaign aims to promote awareness of radiation protection and the appropriate, effective and safe use of x-rays in medical imaging. We need your help to prepare a map of Eurosafe Imaging in Europe. Please complete our short survey on paediatric CT practices in European countries and share the link with your colleagues.

ICR 2014 - 28th International Congress of Radiology - Dubai/UAE - September 9-12
Registration is now open for ICR 2014 - the International Congress of Radiology 2014, taking place at the World Trade Center, Dubai, UAE, on September 9-14.

The congress, which is co-organised by the International Society of Radiology ISR, and the Egyptian Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine ESRNM, will feature a very rich scientific programme, organised and presented by leading physicians, covering a wide variety of subspecialty topics.

MIR Annual Meeting - Bologna, Italy - October 2-3

This year's Management in Radiology (MIR) meeting focuses on all aspects of management in today's radiological practice, including imaging informatics, human resource management, patient safety, service innovation, and economic considerations. Besides the standard programme, the annual meeting will offer a postgraduate course on October 1.

The new Imaging Observatory – all the imaging data, in one place

The ESR has recently launched a new feature exclusively for members: the Imaging Observatory. This online library collects together objective quantitative imaging data from across Europe and beyond and makes it easily available in one location. 

The aim of the Imaging Observatory is to raise awareness about the status of imaging in Europe and elsewhere and to provide a central access point for up-to-date imaging data.

The Imaging Observatory can be found in the Publications and Media section and is accessible to ESR members via their MyUserArea Login.
